This is my doodle for the Pin Up Your Doodle exhibition that is opening tomorrow night. True to doodle form it was very last minute. An old sketch cut quickly from my visual diary and stuck on a piece of paper from our recycling bin this afternoon (wow it sounds so appealing- you want to buy it, right?).
The exhibition is raising funds for the Shebeen Bar and to make it fun not only will there be an exhibition but also a pop-up bar made of cardboard that will be around for the next 3 days starting November 18th in Melbourne CBD (You should come! Yes that's right- you! It's just you and me reading this. Seriously.) The pop-up bar was designed by Adele Winteridge of Foolscap Studio and it features the VERY cool illustrations of Jeremy Ley which turn the cardboard boxes into a serious looking saloon bar.
Whoa that's alot of links. It's all in the hope that i don't have to keep explaining a pretty complicated idea...
So many great creative people in Melbourne have put time and effort (for free) into this one. I don't know all of them, but there's lots (including Mel from Utopian Slumps). Just tonight a whole group of lovely people were sweating it out moving milk crates around and pinning doodles to walls to get this project happening. It was tough work and i stubbed my toe really bad. But these are the sacrifices we make to help out on fun projects.
On a non doodle note, as I was looking through my old sketch book I thought i would add to this a few fashion illustration sketches I had freckled through-out my visual diary.
oh Sian, I'd so be there if I was in Melbourne.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, why did I not look at your blog earlier?! You are even more amazing than I already thought, which was pretty amazing, let me tell you.. so much creative stuff going on in one person... love all your projects! I will have to try to drop by with Fabia to the bar tomorrow night maybe!
